Brief History

The Kashmir Pulse was initially a free-to-user SMS news alert service, starting from the first day of January 2010. However, the SMS services were banned in the erstwhile state because of some law and order reasons that forced the service to shut down.

The Kashmir Pulse is a popular name among thousands of social media users, especially on Facebook and YouTube, who are connected to its official pages on social networking websites.

The Kashmir Pulse is registered with the Government of India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as a media portal under Information Service Activities with registration number UDYAM-JK-15-0024638. Also,  The Kashmir Pulse is a member of the Working Journalist Media Council (WJMC) under Reference No. WJMC/7489-141. WJMC is registered with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 as a self-regulatory body for online news publishers.
